A settlement atmosphere surrounded by a London borough?

I might be moving to London soon. While I am most excited about anyone near London, the shops and sights and crowds, I do not want to live surrounded by a big city. I'll be working in one of the Northeast boroughs and would love suggestions on finding a undisruptive, affordable (hah!) place to live that has more of a villagey get the impression instead of a big city feel. I love green spaces and sea, so any suggestions there would be great!!

Thank you!

Answers:    Many definition of "affordable" will put you outside the M25, and London than becomes a commuting destination.
And a nice "villagely feel" is within demand, and prices move about accordingly. "Green" and a tube correlation to London is on a lot of shopping list

Your options will depend greatly on the transport links to where on earth exactly you'll be working. Public transport and car driving both hold their frustrations.

If you start looking at Hainault or Epping, you'll get a discern of what's possible that close in (15-20 miles from "The City")
they habitually say that London is more a collection of village rather than a big city ... it massively much depends on whereabouts in London you're chitchat about - I'm afraid "northeast borough" is a bit too indefinable ... and as for affordable ANYTHING in London is expensive Chingford contained by Waltham Forest Borough
