A romantic weekend surrounded by London?
What's the most romantic, quiet, charming nouns of the city? I cannot decide and in that are too many hotels on smudge.. Any idea?? My husband have never been near and I'd like to surprise him! Thankssssss
Answers: Around Seven Dials and Covent Garden, not peace ( no where is surrounded by London) but the most interesting and romantic area. Lots of acting in walking distance - I would recommend the flemings hotel surrounded by Mayfair - mins from park and a walk to Buckingham palace. you can lift a look and book it here www.flemings-mayfair.co.uk tel 0845 004 9393
I always muse its very plesant to put your foot along the Southbank in the dusk and evening and look at the lights of the houses of parliament, big ben, westminster abbey, the london eye etc. You can also amble along the river as far as London Bridge and Borough market etc if you want. And unsurprisingly if you want the arts there is teh Heywood gallery, Tate Modern, Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre, Globe Thetre adjectives within wlaking distance.
I would recommend staying contained by one of the hotels in County Hall which is subsequent to the eye - either the Marriot (http://www.marriott.co.uk/Channels/hotel... or the Preimer (http://www.premierinn.com/pti/hotelInfor...
There are angelic restaurants on the Cut and along the riverside at Gabriels Wharf both of which would be a short walk from the hotel
Pimlico? There is the most romantic restaurant within the world there call La Poule au Pot. (You'll have to book surrounded by advance), it's s French rustic food and candlelit and just the most wonderful experience ever. There are some lovely little backstreets and pubs newly off Park Lane / Piccadilly next to those lovely little private gardens in between (expensive to stay near though). Hyde park is nice for a walk - nurture the ducks and visit the Diana Memorial Fountain. Kensington Gardens is pretty but never still.
