Answers:    Duhhhhhhh what profoundly of kerfuffle
And so to add to it.

You can write it but it's awkward.

You can right to be heard "Both Mike's grandfather and grandmother liked their son's hair". Means they both like it

You can say "Neither Mike's grandfather nor grandmother like their son's hair". Means one of them didn't like it or both didn't.

You can influence "Both Mike's grandfather nor grandmother disliked their son's hair".

English has a cavernous range of words and constructs so it is other possible to get the right unambiguous aim. And easier to write something that isn't.
'Both' and 'didn't' may be used together. Your sentence is fine, and it means that the two grandparents did not close to the hair style.

'Both' is used as an adjective, description 'one and the other; two considered together'.

Do not use a construction such as: "neither like his hair". That's poor language rules, since neither is singular and would require the third person singular verb form, which is 'likes'.
if u expected that using them togehther is positioning them side by side, so it has a simple answer:
word "did" is an auxilary verb, so it must be placed after subject.
"Mike's grandfather and grandmother" within ur example can be reputed as one single subject: With formula;

Both + (S) + did/n't+complement

or

Both + (S1+S2+S3..)+Did/n't+complement

hope this helping
both is not required
no it means two two times so remove 'both' and the sentence is correct
"Mike's grandfather and mother didn't approaching his grand son's spine style."

didn't is past emotional it is better if you write don't. if you are talking of departed then it is o.k.
1.
Its any
Mike's grandfather and grandmother

or

Both of Mike's grandparents...
If you use both and then you read aloud grandfather and grandmother it is REDUNDANT because when you say grandfather and grandmother it automatically finances both of them and vice versa

2) No
Because the proper negative hint word for "both don't", is actually "neither do", so instead of dictum "both don't like his hair", you say aloud " neither like his hair". Don't know around (1), but the sentence means both of his grandparents did not approaching his hair style.
