"Artsy" areas of Edinburgh?

Hello, my friend and I are graduating from college surrounded by America, and we want to move to Edinburgh for a bit before grad academy. We both like anything to do near the arts (museums, poetry readings, show business, film, etc.). My query is, where can we find a reasonably-priced flat contained by the city that is in walking distance to artsy things? Thank you!

Answers:    Here's a few links that will give you an belief of costs and area's to stay in Edinburgh.
You can achieve flats in the West End for lb450 per month. Most places own good bar etc, But Edinburgh is so small you could live anywhere and be near your 'artsy' things.

Try looking on www.citylets.co.uk and www.gumtree.com but engineer sure you look for the city centre.

Good luck!
Edinburgh and sound rent don't really go together I'm afraid, especially near the $ performing so badly. Edinburgh is a remarkably small city so nowhere is really that far from the city centre and the public transport is excellent and operate at night as ably. Expect to pay minimum lb600.00($1,200.00) per month for a small city nub flat. The Edinburgh festival is on within August, prices for accommodation rise dramatically during this length.Postcodes(zip) that start EH1-EH5 are most central. Another theory of seeing the wonderful city would be placing a private add to be a 'paying guest' giving a few hours childcare or housework within exchange for bed and possibly board. The Lady magazine would be a good place to place an personal ad. Good Luck :)
