Any tips on traveling to Haiti?
I am volunteering with my frind within Haiti this August. Anyone have any tips.
Answers: Not comparatively sure what part of Haiti you're staying within. Will you be staying with a line or what?
- First, you should've visited or should look in your family doctor soon to see if you inevitability to take any shots and medicinie. Depending on all along your stay, you should have at smallest two weeks worth of medicinie. I know one thing for sure, you will enjoy to take malaria tablets back your trip. You should start taking those a week before you give notice for Haiti. Also you should've taken the Hepatitis A & B shot.
-You should NOT drink the water. Make sure everything is bottled. I know it's a given but I merely had to stress that. Just to play it protected, I packed my own bottled dampen and also a few fruit punches like Capri-Suns.
-DO NOT munch through anything from the vendors out on the street.
-Stay away from any rare vegetation or pink food
-Make sure you have comfortable shoes close to some really thick sole sandals or tennis shoes.
My enumerate of other items that I pack:
Dramamine
Imodium AD
Tylenol( or whatever niggle reliever of your choice)
First Aid Kit (Mini)
Rolaids
Allergy Medicine
Sunscreen
Mosquito Repellent
Bottled Water
Fruit Punch (like capri-suns, kool-aid singles or crystalite)
-unperishable snacks(like to-go starkist tuna, vienna sausage, crackers...stuff of that sort)
--Learn alittle bit of creole, like a simple "obedient morning" or "good day"-bonjou ("b" pronounced similar to in bun) bon-ju, but if it's after 12pm use "bonswa (bon-swah) which vehicle "good afternoon",
"thank you"-mèsi, (meir-see)
"goodbye"- O revwa, (O-rehv-wah)
"You're Welcome"-Merite, (may-reh)
"Yes"-Wi (wee)
"No"-Non (pronounced as "No" surrounded by Nose)
-Do take pictures, but please ask for blessing to take pictures. Some individuals do bring offended when you filch pictures of them.
-Depending on where you will be located, I would wear pant or like a long skirt or something of that sort.
-One other entity, whatever you do...unless you hold enough of it...don't contribute out any money or candy out in public. You will get hold of swarmed.

Don't spray water on folks. They might think you're putting a voodoo curse on them... Haiti its a striking Country, i go in that every time i have break. If you listen to what people are maxim you will not go, but you inevitability to money to really enjoy it.
This time right in a minute its vacation, there's deeply of beaches to progress too, when you go grab hold of a map at the airport and you will find out. Eat a lot and drink like mad of Coco, and Fritay. And there some clubs you can stir visit they give the name it (ball). and you can bring a little donation to the kids within Cite Soleil. Well that 's it and trust me you will enjoy because its a handsome Country. Have fun and be safe
