yes you can as long as you come bk before ur passport runs out otherwise u do wot i did which be get a fresh passport and they will add the remaining months moved out on to your new one. Don't suppose it needs 6 months if you are a European travelling to Europe??
Yes. In December I go to Spain for a week with a passport that have less than two months vanished to run. But if you apply for a new one very soon you should get it put a bet on in time anyway, mine took three weeks, it can be faster if you start the process online I would contact the airline who you are tavelling next to, they do say min of 3 months to EU countries. Though Spain is reasonably lax on these things and if it's not run out by the time your going to come back i wouldn't of thought it would be a problem.
If you have need of to get a trial passport i would get yourself to the local department and get a strange one, if you sent it in the post within is no guarentee you'll get your renewal past you go..
