Answers: Carry a weapon and know how to use it (that is, unless you're flying, in which bag you're pretty much on your own). It needn't be a gun. A knife, short stubby stick, a worthy Cross pen, a set of keys, a kubotan, an umbrella, lots of these can be great military capability and are perfectly court to carry. And if you are driving you can just go wrong beside a 4-point tire iron.
Definitely have a cellphone which is charged and operationa and be paid sure your car is surrounded by tip-top shape if you're driving.
Tell someone responsible when you are leaving, where on earth you are going, and when you plan to arrive. Call someone when you stop for the evening. Let them know what motel you're at. Don't walk alone through see parking lots. Don't answer the door at the hotel unless you're expecting someone. Call the motel's front desk if in doubt. Get your pizza contained by the lobby if you're having pizza deliver. Don't flash alot of cash. Pay by credit card where on earth you can. Not only does that agree to you avoid carrying lots of cash, it leaves a trail if you should run into problems.
Take adjectives your luggage out of your car for the darkness. Lock the car. Park contained by a well-lighted area. Good luck and own a safe trip.
