Are GPs allowed to forward your diagnosis?

Im 16, and wondering GPs arn't allowed to contact your parents/guardians on diagnosis etc if your over 16? right?

Answers:    I think it would depend (among other things) on which state you are surrounded by.

A particular department might also have a "privacy policy" brochure which you may know how to read (free) to find out what they would do. You may also be able to ask the bureau manager question.
your a minor, and yes they will tell your parents/guardians as they own a legal right to know. They are reasonably responsible for you and your health/well being. No they shouldn't as it's Data protection and should stay confidential.
guess that would be a orb ache!

next to something as serious as that would you not rather enjoy the support of someone close?
In the UK if youre 16 or over, they shouldnt be consulting your parents about your problems short your consent. But if you had something life span threatening they would probably advise you to bring up to date them anyway. You have to be authentic.how do you expect to have treatment for what is a outstandingly cureable cancer without anyone knowing? Its not a STD you know..
Legally I'm sure that it depends on the state the youngster lives in. Look up the state's teen strength law or ask the GP's bureau directly.
