Can a Native US Citizen move to Switzerland or Italy ? How does it work ?
Answers: It is extremely difficult to immigrate to any Europen country...they have terrifically strict regulationsl. Generally, you must be a highly skilled worker surrounded by a field contained by which they need workers. You can see the websites below to read visa requirements for Switzerland and Italy. If you are independently "wealthy" and own a steady income that meets their minimum requirement ( similar to a retired person near a decent pension), and you will not entail to work there, i.e. totally different.
You have to obtain a work visa, which means you own a skill
that is especially useful to them that they call for more of. when I
was at hand, they needed Dental Hygienists. You apply for
a visa, and if they give it to you, you turn work there.
Hhm the Swiss are extremely difficult, as we found out a couple of years ago. My mother surrounded by law looked-for to return after 30y in the Netherlands, (she have lived in Switzerland on an Austrian passport for almost 30years in the past she married and got a Dutch pasport) She did enjoy a good income but it wasn't good ample and she really had to verbs a lot of strings.
Even though she have lots of relatives, including a son and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, living in Switzerland.
But bringing surrounded by a lot of money (still) help. Try the Swiss embassy website they should be able to relate more specific but dont count on an easy getting within.
Don't know for Italy, but cant immaging it being more difficult than Switzerland
