Anyone ever be to Basil, Switzerland?
I'm going there at the closing of the week. I don't know anything about the place. What should I see?, what should I avoid. Whats the darkness life approaching? Will I be screwed only knowing English. How expensive is it , coming from the Euro. Any upright answers will be rewarded.

Basel (along with adjectives of Switzerland) will be very expensive for you. The hours of darkness life is pretty flawless, with a few clubs and nice cafes/pubs, too. I'd recommend checking out the older part of town, the Rhine, and lately spend some time on foot exploring the city. You will be fine speaking English within - the only race I found that struggled with English be the older ones. Well I go there on a arts school ski trip (many years ago)so I couldn't comment on the nightlife. All I can remember was the amazing clock that come to life near figures dance around when the hour changed and lovely Swiss chocolate.
2 words for Switzerland . . Busy, expensive. If you thinking of good places to walk go to Zurich (possilbe Basel) especially if you ant hours of darkness life. I f you can also see if you can look in Luzern and Bern!! About the beer and subs there probably approaching in North America of late twice the price. And about he language, don't worry just about it to much, it's quite the oral communication. It's almost like not knowing french. If you really don't know any, your not screwed, there's lots of population that know English just fine (they might struggle but so will you.) Have fun
