5 afternoon trip to swizz?

iam taking a 5 day trip to switzerland.getting down within geneva.what r the places to see and do for 5 days?thx

Answers:    nearby Lausanne is the 2nd principal French-speaking city in Switzerland; i believe it's smaller amount than 1h from Geneva by train. the Olympic Museum in Lausanne is pretty interesting. there're some pretty distinctive architecture in Lausanne as very well: the cathedrale, Palais de Rumine, etc. the old town is awfully nice as well (lot of shopping), though it's on the steep side.

Vevey is also along Lac Leman (aka Lake of Geneva), but has better view of the lake and Alps beyond compared to Lausanne. it's also the deathplace of Charlie Chaplin, and you can find a statue and park staunch to him along the shoreline. a stroll along the lakeshore, complete with clear river and swans, is incredibly picturesque.

from Vevey, Montreux is only a few minutes away, and houses Switzerland's most foremost castle, the Chateau de Chillon. it's worth a visit, freshly for its place in Swiss history (and popularity among tourists).

Zermatt is worth considering, if you want to see the Matterhorn. you'll be surrounded by the western portion of the country anyway (though the train ride from Geneva will be at least 3h). spur-of-the-moment stops on the way to Zermatt that i'd suggest include Martigny (lots of Roman-era relics and buildings) and Brig (there's a great castle on amazing, huge grounds). both of these small cities are set against the backdrop of mountains, so it's reasonably a sight on a delicate day. (i would not spend loads of time within Martigny and Brig though, and instead see these places on your way to Zermatt -- a few hours is ample, because frankly, other than what i noted already, they're not the most interesting cities otherwise).
Five days is profoundly to spend in Geneva.
But you will want to drop by a couple of museums.
You have to step to the Hotel des Armures for fondue.
You can rent a boat and tour the lake to congratulate where the sumptuous live.
There is a great steak place called l'Entrecote. Bring adjectives your money.
The Old Town is very charming.
And here is lots of shopping.
From Geneva you can easily transport a side trip to Annecy which is a beautiful French city on one of the clearest lake.
