Answers:    Hello there shoppingblues. I hold been here twice. Menorca is one of the Balearics, but very different compared to the other two islands of Majorca & Ibiza.
Its a lovely island though, intensely pretty.
The resort of Cala'n Forcat is on the extreme west coast of Menorca, approximately 5km west of Ciutadella, and some 50km, or 30 miles, west of Mahon.
Cala'n Forcat along with its neighbours Cala'n Blanes and Los Delfines, enjoy now adjectives merged to form the one resort that is probably the largest tourist nouns on the island.

The whole nouns around Cala'n Forcat is one of Menorca's newest resorts, (mostly be built from the late 1980's onwards) to accommodate an increasing constraint for holiday accommodation on the island. With the exception of a couple of do sized hotels, accommodation here is principally self catering apartments and privately owned villas.

It is best suited towards families near young children or younger couples.

Once you own settled in to your temporary housing, public transport both around the resort and beyond is good.
For local journey, a leisurely mini train runs around the resort during the daylight and well into the impulsive evening, and for journeys further afield the west coast bus service operate by Torres Alles Autocares sa make the short trip east towards Ciutadella, approximately every 20 to 30 minutes.
Once contained by Ciutadella further journeys on the Transportes Menorca sa exchange cards can then be made east towards Mahon. The timetables for these routes are published respectively year on the bus stops throughout the town.

Cala'n Forcat has a flawless selection of shops and SPAR type supermarkets that should cater for the everyday holiday essentials, next to most also stocking a wide inspection of UK recognised branded goods, albeit at slightly high prices than you would normally expect to clear back home. However, for a wider inspection of both designer labels and local crafts you will have need of to head into just round the corner Ciutadella.

Much of the west coast of Menorca around Cala'n Forcat is very rugged, near deep rocky inlets that are similar to the coastline around Cala d'Or on east coast of Majorca.
Cala'n Blanes have probably the best beach surrounded by the area, but it can become terribly crowded during the peak summer weekends. In contrast, the Cala'n Forcat coast is really little more than a deep inlet that have a number of concrete platforms to dive or swim rotten.

The resorts of Cala'n Forcat and Cala'n Blanes are often described by the foremost tour operators as self "lively". By Menorcan standards they probably are, however, don't go expecting to find another Magaluf or Playa de las Americas here, Menorca purely isn't like that, which for most inhabitants who holiday here is attraction enough.

Heres a interconnect which will take you to a together list of intake places you might like to consider- here are plenty to chose from.
