The hotel I stayed at in Barcelona ending year was adequete but not "wow!" . It be called the Hotel Rialto and be 3 stars. However the a/c did not work one night and the room be verrry small for 3 people. The ratings are not duplicate in Europe as contained by the US for hotels. I would say no smaller quantity than a 4 star. It might be a bit pricey but its worth it. But I loved Barcelona. Such a fun place! Hotels in City Center are track too expensive and not all that great to be honest. I usually stay at 1898 on Ramblas (cause it have a great pool and view from the roof). But to be honest the hotel itself is a bit crazy (very disorganized) but it is nice so stay nearby. But I try to stay in apartments when surrounded by Barcelona. For the same price as a hotel you can stay within a much nicer apartment! Do a search for time off apartments in Barcelona. My fav is a fantastic place on Placa Reial. Check the reviews out on them
