A quiz in the region of sanctuary within Spain?
I've always like Spain, even though I've only really visit the bits main frequented by tourists. As Spain is a come to rest of great contrasts, I'd like to call in more of it. So, next year I'm considering visit Madrid, and Saville. I'd be visiting alone and would similar to so advise as to safekeeping, I'm 17 and male. I'm not interested surrounded by the drug side of it at all, I drink a small amount, but I plan to avoid bar in Spain, as one 17 and alone in a inn is a bad perception anywhere. I, of course, don't shift looking for trouble, I keep myself to myself. One concern I do enjoy is dress, in the UK, as various users will be well aware near is a class of individual known as the chav. Quite a life-size amount of them like to incentive trouble with inhabitants they perceive as "different" to them. I guess I dress somewhat scene or indie, I wear skinny jeans, fairly tightish t shirts, enjoy a side fringe, etc. Being shouted at or even sometimes attacked based on attire within the UK isn't the most unheard of thing ever.
Answers: Firstly, you are a severely mature 17 year ripened, asking a valid and responsible question, I applaud you for that.
Secondly, don't verbs at all, within Spain people are not criticized for their dress sense and fortunately we don't own anything like that deplorable brain departed clan called "chavs". Bars are frequented by family too here, but pubs are not so just be yourself, hold a great time and as you are sensible nothing unpromising should happen to you if you do the following:
Stay contained by well lit areas,
Don't drink too much (you already said you don't)
Don't hoof it the streets in the untimely hours alone
Don't carry your worldly possessions on your personage
There are few troublemakers in Spain (not necessarily Spanish either) that look for tourists to rob or pick pocket, so lately be aware even in daylight hold your wallet inside your jacket or jeans front pocket. This of course can and does take place in adjectives major tourist cities of the world.
Madrid and Seville are elegant cities go and savour them and have a great time.

One other entry. Manners still count in Spain. Greeting others near Buenos Dias/Tardes, looking people within the eye when you speak to them, a broad smile, a handshake, appearing to appreciate assistance, cliché Gracias...all these things will lug you far.

Madrid and Seville you will love! and you can have a feeling pretty safe. The biggest problem contained by Spain is pickpockets. Keep different kinds of spending money, and preserve it in different places. Put merely as much cash contained by your pocket as you think you'll have need of for the day, departing the rest in the hotel risk-free. Use a money belt. Keep more than one credit card/atm card and keep them surrounded by different places. Do not just sling your camera over a shoulder and fail to acknowledge it. You will lose it.
On the other hand. personal/physical crimes are much smaller amount common than contained by other countries. Just be aware of your surroundings. They definitely warn us about women walking alone behind schedule at night. Take that into article, and use taxis if you touch uncomfortable walking.
Don't try to avoid bar in Spain. You won't be capable of eat. Bars are restaurants, and they propose beer/wine at almost all restaurants. You can be pretty secure, however, that you won't find a whole lot of falling down drunks. It's notably frowned upon there.
You should clearly taste some of the local wines, sherry (fino) and beers. No teetotaling near.
Staying away from drugs is a good notion. Just stick with that.
They own their own way of dressing contained by Spain, more formal than in profusely of other countries (maybe no more than the rest of Europe, but Americans absolutely stick out similar to sore thumbs...I understand they simply look at our feet).
You probably won't be accosted (even verbally) because of your clothing, as long as it's more or less conservative. Jeans and t-shirts go lately fine, and in the larger cities, they are without blemish accustomed to seeing foreigners and different styles. Don't go too tight on those t-shirts, because if you curl up in the wrong parts of town, you could be mistaken for a "mariquita" and possibly a professional one. I know where on earth to avoid in Seville, especially after darkened, but I'm not familiar beside the district in Madrid. Whenever you are travelling, try to step more conservative, and less¨"indie" (whatever that is) or "chav", and you should be okay.
