Answers: The countries in Asia are so different and individual that it's hard to tender advice short knowing what you are looking for. Hong Kong & Singapore are countries that have some British influence (easier to achieve around speaking English), but they still have sights, sounds and foods that are not British so you can still discern that you've visited another country. The shopping is great surrounded by both countries (though ppl have said that the days of really cheap merchandise within HK are over). In terms of food and language, as a Westerner, I am biased toward the UK and Europe. I have see ppl from Asia (those born and raised within Asia) eat Western food and they really suffer. OTOH, we might find their food a bit strange, too. But if you are interested within vacationing in Asian countries, in recent times yahoo the different tourist websites of countries you might be interested and see what you think.
India have the enormous places to spend holidays...

Asia is a culturally diverse continent beside many countries in, each offering different experiences depending on which one you pop in. And for huge countries like China and India, every cities you drop by will be different.
Just to share a few of the cities that I own visited:
Beijing, China - be prepared to be overwhelmed by the rich Chinese cultural and history. Lots of historical sites to call in, and nearby places of interest. Some of the must see places include the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.
Yunnan, South-west China - A huge province, some of the must-visit cities inside include Dali and Lijiang (An ancient Naxi nationality town, UNESCO registered Heritage site).
Chiangmai, Thailand - Home of abundant different Hilltribes people. Lots of mountains and rivers, provides great trekking routes and river rafting actions.
Bangkok, Thailand - Capital city of Thailand. Great shopping and food. Must see places include the Royal Palace and floating market.
There are several other countries in Asia, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore...you will stipulation to make greatly of trips to visit them adjectives. :)
Philippines especially in Palawan! We own many divine places especially if you are a nature lover you will really approaching our place.
