Americans moving to Amsterdam...Questions?

I just own a couple of questions for anyone that might be capable of help me. My fiance, me, and preferably our little chihuahua, Sassy might be moving to Amsterdam, Netherlands subsequent year for my job. Would we store our belongings over here surrounded by the US and move to a furnished apartment? Can we take our puppy dog? What is it approaching living in Amsterdam...we live surrounded by Texas. Is it that much of a culture shock? Compared to prices in the US is Amsterdam pretty glorious a.i. food, rent, clothing, utilities? Does the government bring half of your remuneration like Germany? Anything to examine for or be careful of?

Please simply give me any opinion or experiences.

I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for me and I would really love to shift, but I am unsure(cautious).
