"In Transit To" I know this have be asked to release, but will it be here soon?
So at 10:32 this morning my package be in Atlanta, GA. I live surrounded by a North Atlanta suburb (30 minutes away) ; yet it with the sole purpose says "In Transit." That be 4 or 5 hours ago. Does this make sense? Shouldn't it be, at the really least, "Out For Delivery?" And at hand is no "scheduled distribution date" so they shouldn't be holding it for any reason. Thanks everyone!
Answers: Travel / Destinations? Totally wrong category, but anything.
Is this UPS? FedEx? US Mail? Someone else?
In Transit means it's within transit to another Hub.
So it will likely budge to another hub, then be "On vehicle for abdication."
Ok, UPS. That explains it.
ALL couriers use Hubs. When UPS says "In Transit To", it funds it's enroute to a hub. It will then walk to the hub, then shift out on vehicle for delivery. Generally not alike day. So if it get to that hub today, it will be out for delivery tomorrow imagined.
Just because it's a 30 minute drive doesn't mean it's a 30 - 40 minute UPS drive. It may be on a vehicle making delivery elsewhere before it get to the hub. But likely you won't see the collection today.
To clarify, as I now hold a package coming to me UPS:
UPS uses a different 'reporting' than Fedex or other carrier.
For example, a FedEx package from Florida to California may show (simplified):
Monday: Departed Florida
Wednesday Morning: Arrive Chicago, IL
Wednesday Night: Depart Chicago, IL
Friday Morning: Arrived Salt Lake City, UT
Friday Night: Departed Salt Lake City, UT
Monday Night: Arrived San Jose, CA
Tuesday Morning: Out on vehicle for abdication.
UPS, on the other hand shows where on earth the package is HEADING, and go most recent on top. So my package from Ogden Utah to California shows (and I'm showing oldest first, most recent on bottom):
10/9/2007 10:24 PM: Depart Ogden UT
10/10/2007 2:36 AM: Arrive Salt Lake City, UT
10/10/2007 10:27 AM: Depart Salt Lake City, UT
10/10/2007 9:28 AM: In Transit To Sparks, NV.
So the most recent entry is In Transit to - aim it's not yet nearby. So next step will show In Transit To the local hub, even though it's not within yet. Yes, it's confusing.
