?? L.A. California?

For quite some time very soon I've been thinking more or less living in Los Angeles. It looks approaching a beautiful city beside lots to explore. I'm trying to be a writer, I like to write screenplays, novel, graphic novel (not finished with anything); and I other wanted to live contained by a big city. Living here in Maine is charitable of boring and I want to move out. Los Angeles sounded like mind giving of place, but then I hear that I has profusely of earthquakes, and I don't dream up I can handle earthquake very okay. Then Boston was another place contained by mind. my brother lives there and he's working unyielding with computers.

So I hoping I become a published author someday, and I would similar to to live in a big city. Any suggestions or recommend you guys have? I would resembling to hear them.

Answers:    Boston is the better choice.

best of luck to you!
You will be surprised by lots of things in L.A. I lived at hand for over twenty years off and on. I've lived within Utah off and on for the rest of my live and I've lived contained by Brazil for a couple of years and I've travelled to the east coast, including Boston, on business a lot. Here's my perspective:

1. Los Angeles is huge, but it's spread out resembling a pancake, so the only place it feel like a big city is downtown and not a soul lives downtown and it feels too small to be the center of such a huge metropolis, compared beside say, New York. The edges are the Pacific Ocean and the desert (it in reality stretches over the mountains and seems to stretch over the Mexico border too and swallow adjectives of Southern California) instead of typical urban edges. No middle, weird edges; unless you be born there, it adjectives feels remarkably disorienting.

2. Just about my first daylight in L.A. after have gone away and come back, I spoke next to no native english speakers. Everyone be a native speaker of Hungarian, Chinese, Spanish, Hmong, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Russian or some other style. On some streets in L.A. it seem like none of the businesses enjoy signs in english.

3. Some ancestors say in attendance are no seasons within L.A. Other people enunciate there are 3 season: Brown, browner and gray. The air is mostly dry. When it rain, many of the streets flood, but it doesn't final long. When it rains for weeks, the hill get nice and green, which is nice. If you call for cold weather and snow to get within the Christmas spirit, you'll never be in the mood for Christmas shopping.

4. People surrounded by L.A. spend a lot of time contained by their cars because everything is far apart. It's spread out like a pancake. So they spend profoundly of money on their cars. Their cars express who they are. People can live in extremely bad dumps, but drive nice vehicles. Nobody walk anywhere. Running is what you do in the gym.

5. There are solitary a couple of things you need to know and do to prepare for an earthquake and after that, there's nought you can do, so there's nothing else to verbs about. It's truly much safer than the threat of blizzards, floods, tornadoes or hurricanes. But if a major quake if truth be told does hit, there's no warning whatsoever, so you won't be anxious until it actually hits and later you'll only be anxious for a minute. I've been surrounded by 3 major earthquake and don't know anyone that's been injured or suffered any significant loss. I be terrified as a child, but as an fully fledged, they've not been anywhere fundamental as bad as a severe winter storm.
