6 hr layover within Mexico City this Sun. - what/where can I travel outside the airport next to plenty time to attain wager on?

Answers:    If you don't have much carryon belongings take the metro (subway) to the center of town and tour the nouns around the zocalo (main plaza) or go to Chapultepec Park on the metro and see how various Mexicans spend their Sundays. Just be careful and savour the adventure. I hold been to Mexico City masses times and have never have a problem. Just don't take the VW taxi.
If you are adventurous take the metro to Zocalo station, it is really wonderful there. Try not to lug any bags or backpack, is not as bad as empire say, but only just be cautious and savour the city of the palaces.

here is a link to the metro system subway and a map, it is within Spanish though.

I would call a cab (Elite service which is completely safe and not really expensive) and ask him to clutch you downtown (They charge $20.00 US for two hours. After that you can probably return to the airport and have lunch on the Camino Real hotel which holds 4 extraordinarily good restaurants. Enjoy! Elite Taxi PH 56601122 (from Mexico City, they arrive resembling after 10 min and give you a passcode so when they catch there you are sure its them!) One year I be there beside the wife and kids, and we had a four hour layover within. We went outside and looked for the "M" (metro/subway) sign; get on the subway and went to the zocalo; looked within the church; bought some souvenirs from street vendors and have lunch in a department store just round the corner. Then we took the Metro back to the airport next to plenty of time to spare. If you go out don't spend adjectives your money, remember to keep vertebrae enough for the departure tariff.
I agree. Stay in the airport and see your stuff for sure. The only really undamaging area for tourists is the Zona Rosa and it is some distance from the airport.

Plus you enjoy to be really careful in the region of the taxis you use. They can be completely unsafe.
The airport is huge! Spend some time walking around the airport and the different shops. It's almost like going to the shopping arcade! The workers in the shops are friendly. You could chat beside them.
I wouldn't venture outside the airport--the traffic is unpredictable and usually really heavy going to the Zócalo. The cabs certainly charge extra to venture out in that.
The subway is unsafe--the tour guides told us about getting a "free massage" within the subway cars. There are separate cars for women and children to ride in.
I would stay surrounded by the airport. Even if you have a 6 hour layover, you will probably spend an hour going through customs and immigration, and later you will need at least possible another hour before going subsidise through security. That one and only leaves you with 4 hours. Traffic can be awful around the airport, and within isn't much to do near the airport. Still, if you prefer to leave the airport, produce sure you spare 1 hour to and from the airport to have time to return. That leaves you near 2 hours, you could get lunch or pace in the Condesa or Polanco areas, which are nice and not too far. Good luck. no where on earth

just stay put, procure a coffee and relax. you cant get out and vertebrae in such a little.

if you're on vacation, start relaxing!

Mellow out.
Unless you want to bring jacked, Don't Move. And keep an eye on your belongings. No Joke. When I lived within Mexico I arrived at Mexico City airport. They had these things kinda close to a coat check where you could foot to have your luggage checked and watch by an attendant. Just make sure you hold luggage locks for ALL bags and transport valuables with you. Just produce sure of their hours of operation so they are open when you plan to return for your connecting flight. If you want to put your foot around and just pocket in the sights grain free to. Just say on guard. We go to see this Cathederal that was lop-sided because of the settling it did, I dont remember how far away it be, but i remember it being technically close. Just don't venture too far away from the airport, enjoy some pesos on you to take a minicab back if you draw from lost. Mexico City is a beautiful place worth taking a look at. And resembling any major city within the world it has a crime rate. But in recent times be smart. Like I had said I lived contained by Mexico for around 8 months and traveled ALOT. Good luck have fun!!

Ps where on earth are you going in Mexico?
