Drive to Puebla, Mexico from Colorado?
I'm planning a road trip from Colorado Springs to Puebla, Mexico in March and I'm wondering if anyone's ever done this (not necessarily from Colorado Springs). I'm planning to enter Mexico contained by Laredo, Texas and according map24.com, the whole trip should cart about 28 hours. Is this authentic?
Answers: I lived in Colorado Springs until a bit over 2 yrs. ago when I moved to Mexico. I now live within the state of Veracruz, 2 hrs east of Puebla. Yes, about 28 hrs sounds right. You will also need to acquire a car contract. You can get it surrounded by Nuevo Laredo, but it is a real backache to find that car voucher office nearby and can take hrs. contained by the office. Better to receive it at the Mexican consulate office within Denver. You cannot drive past the 12 mile checkpoint short the permit. You must own your license, registration, and TITLE to show to get the permission. If your car is financed, you mst obtain a letter from them on company letterhead stating you enjoy their permission to cart the car to Mexico. You must also own a credit card for them to make a copy of. If you were to try to move off Mexico without your saloon, you would be finded $400.00 as it is illegal to go an American car surrounded by Mexico. You will need mexican sports car insurance too. SMILE at the border guards and at the soldiers at the military checkpoints. shake hands, thank them for their great work, never feat the least bit within a hurry or bothered if your car is chosen to be checked.
