Drinking within Cozumel.?
Ok I`m 18 and I know the legal drinking age within Mexico is 18. I know cozumel still holds the same law. I`m going on a cruise to cozumel soon and just needed to know if they hold the 21 law if you are and american tourist or even if your from the US they will consent to you drink when your 18.
Answers: no drinking on the ship but will be able to drink when you take off at your destination surrounded by the city.
In Mexico..you can drink if you are 14! One time my 15 year old cousin and I walk into a mall and the first entry that was hand to us was a shot of TEQUILA! Mexico and the Mexican folks are not so up-tight about alcohol, kinda resembling in Italy...where on earth parents let their kids transport a zip of wine. What's the big accord? As long as you are not driving or over-doing it.
You are gonna have a blaaaast within Mexico, just don't drink so much that you are gonna be puking! That will ruin your fun and not to mention the hang-over. Mexico is the come to rest of Tequila and some people that never really receive out will over do it. So just drink to the point that you consistency a nice buzz and leave it at that.

American Tourist = $$$, they will not even blink an eye at you. What I own seen is them carding locals waiting to take into some of the clubs (Carlos n Charlies, Senior Frogs), but if you walk up they will permit you right in... no ID, no waiting!
But you can enjoy plenty of fun there and not carry blitzed! Rent a jeep and visit the windward side of the island, charming and much quieter! And yes there are a few bar there too.

We lately spent 8 days on the island. San Miguel is the big town. You will have no problem mortal served alcohol. The first two places that come to mind are Senior Frogs this spot is in town and for sure the childlike crowd 18 and under. Carlos & Charlies would be the subsequent hot spot. A little older crowd will be here. There is the Hard Rock, however, I be not impressed. The cost for drinks was a touch higher.
Depending on your dock location, at hand are two, you might have to give somebody a lift a taxi into town. One dock is located right at the entrance to the two clubs. The other dock will cost you a $6.00 hackney cab ride, You will find a small Senior Frogs at this dock site
