5 star hotel within Mexico-how heaps stars would that be within the US?

Answers:    5 stars in Mexico is resembling no star in USA or europe. I reflect hotels assign the stars to themselves. the better hotels classify themselves as gran turismo and such things.
I have stayed contained by many 5 star hotels here contained by Mexico that are barely mediocre
It depends of the region, the authorities enjoy a list of requirements to assign the stars according to the international system, but I experienced also surrounded by Europe, that in small cities, the standard is not like, like surrounded by the big cities or touristic resorts areas. You can't compare a Ritz in the US to one contained by Mexico?? Have you ever stayed at a Ritz Carlton in Mexico? We hold and trust me they keep impossible to tell apart standards.
45 Fan is an obviously uninformed at the most minuscule. In tourist hotels and restaurants in Mexico, ALL dampen and ice is locked. In other locations, just drink bottled dampen. The fact that one should not drink stroke water contained by Mexico is NOT because the country is filthy. For the most part, it is outstandingly clean. But pipes are weak, contain lead and sometimes hold leaks, so it is not past the worst to drink tap sea. 5 stars for a Mexican hotel means its working totally hard to draw together US and European standards. There are some, not widely known to the average traveler, that are the epitome of luxe. What's beside this still don't drink the water stuff? Pure dampen and ice is everywhere within Mexico even in no star hotels.
None it would be a 10/10 crap hotel. 5 stars = exceptional properties offering the finest accommodation and amenities with an outstanding assortment of premium facilities and services.

I would utter that a 5 star hotel in Mexico is equal to a 4 star within USA. What determines finest and outstanding? You can't compare a Ritz in the Mexico to one surrounded by USA. I have traveled to Mexico abundant times. I have also stayed within some of the finest resorts in USA.

I must read aloud one thing, the personal service you receive from the Mexican body are far superior than SOME of the US employees surrounded by the best hotels in USA. But that's not adequate to rate a hotel/resort a 5 star. This my personal opinion. )
garrison is right, the cataloguing doesn't change from one country to the other.... if a hotel is catalogued as a 5 star contained by here, it means it'd be a 5 star anywhere else too. You could possibly wonder in the order of 1 or 2 stars, which might be a bit nicer in US or Europe than surrounded by Mexico, but not for a 5 star hotel.. not many enjoy this category, so if they do it's because they comply with the requirements. 5 is 5. Here and surrounded by China
The sistem of star leveling is an international standard.
Only, in México a 5 stars hotel is cheaper than contained by USA, just as heaps other things. A 5 star hotel is a 5 star hotel ANYWHERE in the WORLD... the stars are base on goods and services and that doesn relocate... so a 5 star mexican hotel would be a 5 star AmeriKan hotel... it's an INTERNATIONAL standard.
MMM let me meditate. MMM, A five starts hotel is a 5 starts hotel in the U.S. -_- Actually, 5 stars doesn't really translate across the hotels; the ratings are applied by respectively rating system and reflect how they compare inside each company's own rating scales. That's why Travelocity, Expedia, Hotwire and Priceline etc. can adjectives show different stars depending on the own grading system. Generally, 5* are the topmost rated and most compnies will grant it a 5* with some giving it 4 or 4.5* The standards across the world apply internationally but within Mexico - 5* are the most luxurious and are typically upscale expansive resorts next to many amenities.
