Can I move about to Rosarito, Mexico in need a photo ID?
My friends and I are meeting up within Oceanside this weekend and going to Rosarito for a night, but closing night my wallet be stolen that had my photo psyche in it. Would only just my birth certificate work if i go to the dmv and got a makeshift license tomorrow? My best friend is in matching situation. We'd rather not sit within oceanside alone while everyone else is in Mexico.
Answers: I would not risk it. The problem is not getting down nearby, but getting back. U.S. citizens are currently exempt from the requirement to show a passport unless they are returning to the U.S. from outside the Western Hemisphere (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia). However, it is notably recommended that you be prepared to present documentation such as valid U.S. passport, U.S. birth certificate, or naturalization authorization to avoid delays.
