i go really tired of that hurricane-talk and some of the answers here as soon as it comes to cancun and the riviera maya.
i do live within the riviera-maya (cancun area) since almost 12 years and fact is:
surrounded by the last 41 (forty-one) years the nouns (not only cancun) have:
1966 "Inez"...passed by more than 50 miles away.cancun as a tourist resort didn't even exist at that time.
1988 "Gilbert".cancun get hit.
1995 "Roxanne"...exceptionally weak hurricane falls landscape in the middle of nowhere (close to belize).no wreckage what so ever.
2005 Emily"...very unsubstantiated aswell...hits land in close proximity puerto aventuras...nothing serious.
2005 "Wilma".playa del carmen and cancun be hit.
in my 12 years here i have one (1) hurricane and a very few tropical storms...which are safe.
yes,it is hurricane season for ALL the caribbean AND FLORIDA till the end of october.but the luck to be at the wrong time in the wrong place is soooo small.
in attendance is nobody in the entire world who will be capable of tell you how the weather will be close to.if there is such a party out there i'm sure he/she will sort a fortune soon.
don't worry almost the weather...you'll not gonna change it anyways.

Its %56 chance that we will procure hit this year(being here is Cancun) since we did not have anything coming over within 2006 this year its highly that we will get hold of hit. about October yes its when the deep-sea water get the highest surface warmness and thats whats causing the Hurricanes. Very flawless chance. Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30th.
