Answers: o.k. they are completely different.
1.- Price: Vallarta is cheaper
2.- Cabo San Lucas is located within Southern California.
Puerto Vallarta is in Jalisco, also on the Pacific Ocean but more or smaller quantity in the middle of Mexico.
3.- Vallarta have a nice family environment and abundant activities, but near are more people, some places can bring back a little crowded. Night existence is great.
Cabo San Lucas has more American Tourism (that is why it is more expensive), you will be aware of a little more at home.
4.- The population in both places are exceptionally friendly Mexico normally treats tourism especially well.
5.- Vallarta: You can swim, barn dance, snorkel, visit the tropical rainfall forest, swim with dolphins, jump to small islands by boat.
Cabo San Lucas: Pretty much the same, except for the precipitation forest. In Cabo San Lucas there are grat snorkeling locations and scuba diving places. No jungle though.
As I said they are massively different, you have to prefer based on the facts stated above.
