I am traveling to mexico from san diego on moral friday?

i am from australia and i heard surrounded by mexico and the states that good friday is a big event due to the considerable roman catholic populations. will it take extra long to cross the border? and also how long does it usually hold, does good friday slump on the 21 of march surrounded by the states?
