Anyone stay at a RIU hotel surrounded by Cancun?
I am going to Cancun in July and be wondering which of the three RIU hotels are the best? There is the RIU Cancun, the RIU Caribe, and the RIU Las Americas. Please let me know your opinion on any or all of them. Thanks
Answers: We stayed at the Riu Cancun and have a blast. We were choosing between the Riu Palace and the Riu Cancun. We chose the Cancun because it be cheaper, with solitary minor differences between the two. The standard rooms at the Palace are larger, and I believe you can have a room service breakfast as element of the all-inclusive services. You also have access to the Cancun hotel, but the Cancun does not hold access to the Palace.
Anyway, we were thrilled next to the Riu Cancun and would definitely jump back.
The pools be awesome - they had 4 pools, adjectives good sized. One have a swim-up bar contained by it, with some little swirl areas. Another was used like mad for water volleyball and such. One (or possibly two) had section where the lounge chairs can in actual fact rest in the pool. They be great.
The beach be also really nice - plenty of nice chairs, plenty of umbrellas if you want shade.
The activities staff work rock-hard to keep you entertain, day and dark. They do a great job, and here is plenty to do if you want to do something other than lay around the pool and swim.
The food be great. There was a big breakfast buffet, beside everything you could imagine. For lunch you could munch through an indoor buffet or an outdoor buffet. There were 4 choice for dinner - Japanese, Mediterranean, outdoor porch steakhouse, or a buffet with different area each dark (Italian, Mexican, etc). We ate very very well, and never tired of the food at all.
Drinks are also plentiful. The bar were adjectives very honourable - tip a bit and you get better service. There is also a liquor dispenser contained by the room, complete with a fridge full of possible mixers and beer and hose down. That's all included within the price.
We hope to be able to shift back to Cancun within a few years, and we'll definitely be staying near again.
I've stayed (a) the RIU in Cabo San Lucas - it be very nice. I like that they stocked the fridge in our room next to Coronas!
Check www.applevacations.com for the RIUs in Cancun, they enjoy a 'golden apple' rating system which may help you. Generally, if you stay (a) a nicer hotel, you can other ask for / bargain for an upgrade once you acquire there. You may attain a better deal than if you be to book the nicest room online OR in mortgage :)
Ive stayed at the RIU Cancun 3 times in the second 3 years and it is my favorite hotel in the world. RIU palace is obedient to but it shares the same property as the RIU Cancun its simply more expensive because the rooms are nicer and the Palace has 1 extra restaurant. I Did! We stayed at the RIU Palace and we be told by many ethnic group it was the nicest resort contained by Cancun. We LOVED IT! The food was great, the endeavours were fun, shore was nice and the best constituent was the staff. Every single being that worked there be so nice and accommodating.
The Japanese Restaurant was scrumptious!
The only down point be the bed was for a while hard but adjectives you had to do be ask and they will send up a mattress wipe.
This place is beautiful and we can't dawdle to go stern!
