Black women surrounded by Mexico?

I am a black woman,I was born surrounded by france and I plan to go to Mexico city to study. I would close to to know how I will be treated when I go within

Answers:    To be black AND French will be a huge advantage. The Mexicans human being a new see made up of native race, Spanish, various immigrant (German, Jewish, Chinese, Italians etc.) and many thousands of Africans who arrived contained by the Gulf coast after Mexico became one of the first nation in the Americas to outlaw slavery.

Our friend who mentioned nouns against the native or Indian population, most potential is born and raised surrounded by the US. The most recent census puts pure blooded Indians at between 5-7% and other pure (immigrant) race at 5% as well, so that over 85% of Mexicans are mixed see or simply "Mexican." Unlike other "new world" countries, adjectives Mexicans accept and acknowledge the history and heritage of the aboriginal peoples as THEIR history and heritage.

Even within Vera Cruz which has dozens of towns founded by ex-slaves and innumerable "African" place and nearest and dearest names, you would be complicated pressed to find the African features in any face. They may in these towns look somewhat dark, but they all look resembling "Mexicans." (And like my brother-in-law from Vera Cruz, are justly proud of their African heritage..)

Unlike the racist US, Mexico have pretty much absorbed its citizens into a single see. (Never forget that 150 years ago Mexico was the first nation within the post-colonial Americas to elect a 100% pure blooded Indian as its President, Benito Juarez, still regarded as the greatest president surrounded by Mexico's history....)

There are also thousands of blacks, (mostly assimilated) who came here during times gone by century from Brazil, the United States and Latin America precisely in establish to avoid racial nouns and prejudice..

(I'm rambling on and on..)

No, French AND black, Mexicans will LOVE you and you'll be treated remarkably special, don't you worry..
I studied out of the country in Monterrey and I own traveled to Mexico city several times through out the years, there are few black inhabitants in Mexico, but more surrounded by Mexico City, which felt reasonably strange to me as I am from the US and therefore accustomed to seeing every see of people. I notice that sometimes you feel close to you are being stared at no issue what race you are if you look different, but it is out of curiosity. I find mexicans to be fundamentally friendly and accomidating no matter what color of skin you hold. Culturally it is common for mexicans to collaborate openly in the region of skin color because they are so multi-toned depending on how much European blood they have. They hail as each other *****(blacky) or guero(whity) and it is completely okay. Have a wonderful time and do not verbs you will be treated well. PS Mexicans LOVE the French! Don J, Judith and the sky are right.

Remember everey one of us as humans enjoy different experiences and as we say surrounded by Mexico "cada quien habla de cómo le fue en la feria" which means: "every individual tells the story the route they experienced it".

You'll find fine people along next to some other not so nice, I have travel in a foreign country and I know that is a certainty everywhere. be careful but not hysterical roughly your safety. Trust others but don't be overconfident.

I live practical Mexico City and travel there frequently, nearby are areas you shouldn't go but asking aroud family will tell you something like them.

Welcome to Mexico
My girlfriend is Black and she was treated lately fine in Mexico. In small towns resembling Patzcuaro, children tended to stare at her as she be not the norm in their lives. But elsewhere, she didn't catch sight of any undue attention and no race issues, but she is enormously pretty with an infectious smile and snigger and always get interest because of that. We've been to Cuernavaca, Mexico City, Taxco, Guanajuato, Morelia, Oaxaca together surrounded by the last 3 years and she have been to Mazatlan previously.

If you are childlike and going to study Spanish, the young teacher will probably take great interest within you. They are interested in other cultures and students are how they find out more in the order of the world. When I studied in Cuernavaca, a Black female was a student and the teacher wanted to know adjectives about her experiences within the US as a minority.

I am sure you will find the Mexican people within general extraordinarily friendly and kind. That have been my experience within traveling there for more than 20 years.
You may find some racism at first, but the reality that you are foreign should give you an profit because we mexicans find it interesting and even appealing.
Racism in Mexico, deplorably is mostly against the mexican-indians which, ironically, are the actual founders of our country. Hi, you will be treated as a foreigner and as a woman. Men will shout silly stuff at you in the streets, things to do beside your bossom, your butt, your face, your spike, your everything... i mean, it is incredible how creative (sic) they can be.
But you will carry used to it. We are nice people, but men can be pigs.
Mexico city is unsafe, it is true, hide your jewelery and other know where your are and where on earth you are going, do not carry a purse, do not endeavour alone at night, etc.
I do not believe you will be kidnapped, it is quality of hard to carry a ransom from another country.
alors, c'est un autre nation, un peu different mais tu serais bienvenue. (sorry, i mostly speak french, not write it).
My husband and I travelled the backroads of Mexico in the Yucatan. We met plentiful people, including modern Mayans and everyone we met be friendly, accommodating and respectful.

However, as a woman, I do know that when going out to a bar/club you have to expect aggressive flirtatiousness. Not as much as within Argentina (where the men will try to kiss you on your way to the bathroom), but they tend to be hugely "friendly". That's just their culture. So, save to the buddy system.

The one thing you will also want to examine out for isn't race, but the certainty that kidnappings happen more frequently surrounded by Mexico City than in the US. Just be alert and again preserve to the buddy system. Don't walk around by yourself at darkness.

My husband and I had a great time within the Yucatan, and he studied in Mexico City as capably for a month and had a great time. I'm sure you will find your stay near very pleasant.
If a Mexican say something bad to you, purely say "pinche indio!" jajaja
