The Royal Playa del Carmen?
Hi, all! My husband and I are going to Mexico surrounded by January and are staying at The Royal in PDC. Has anyone be there? What be your experience? I've read tons of reviews on TripAdvisor, but I'm curious what you have to articulate! Any places in PDC that we should look in? Is Cozumel worth a trip? THANK YOU!
Answers: Congratulations on your trip. I just returned from Playa del Carmen on September 24, 2007 and I have a blast. First there is two Royals, one is inside the city of PDC and the other is of late outside, about five minutes. I stayed at the Royal Hacienda Resort outside and be great very well turned-out 5 star resort. The Royal inside PDC was impressively elegant and close to 5th AVE where on earth all the restaurants and small clubs are any way you can't walk wrong with any of those two Royal Resorts. I stayed 10 days and there is simply so much to do it wasn't enough days. The must see places is 1 XCARET,2. Cozumel (Island), 3. Ruins of Tulum. Snorkling is a must because the hose is very clear and tons exotic fishes. The weather is humid but in January it will be much nicer. There is a Wal-Mart within PDC and you can buy any tickets to the above places I mentioned for a discounts. For more info feel free to e-mail and I will joyfully assist you. My family have a great time and we want to return next year.
Hi,
You guys will own a great experience. I like the remoteness of Cozumel, however, Playa del Carmen is a flawless choice. I think a must call in is the Maya ruins at Coba. This is right in the middle of the rainfall forest. You will experience a lot of Mayan history. Tulum is OK. I assume it's over done.
The main bus station is right practical the Ferry Terminal, near, of adjectives places McDonald's. Close by is a Wal-Mart. You can take a bus(royal coach) ride for $8.00 respectively one-way to Cancun to do a little touring.
The Ferry to Cozumel departs on the hour and take about 40 minutes hand over of take 5 minutes. The cost is $16.00 one bearing. Check around you might get a ticket for smaller quantity. You arrive right downtown San Miguel. If you've been to Mexico you know the drill, you'll hold everyone and his brother trying to sell you things you don't really want or have need of. The town of San Miguel can be a lot of fun to in recent times walk around and see the relatives and sites.
One thing you enjoy to do is snorkel at your hotel beach or on Cozumel. The river is very clear 100' visibility and the temp should be 80 to 81 degree so you might want to consider a shorty wet-suit. Wal-Mart might have them for mart cheep. Like I said we like Cozumel. The Park Royal is a really good place to stay.
Enjoy!
