Best summer spot within Mexico?
I am looking into a 1-2 week vacation this summer. I enjoy been to Mexico several times, but solely in winter or Spring. I would similar to warm, but not humid temperature (maybe in the 80's), and preferably no rainfall. Places I've been to and enjoy include Cuernavaca (kind of near and dear to my heart as I lived at hand for 4 months), Puebla, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel de Allende, and places I'm interested in seeing are Zijuatanejo.Ixtapa, Patzcuaro, Oaxaca. Others?
Answers: I own been to oodles parts of Mexico. Like you, I spent a lot of time surrounded by Cuernavaca (did you go to Taxco?).
Here are my favorite places.
Best of adjectives, Oaxaca. Nice weather. Fun shopping as well as have a beer in Zocalo. Very small-feeling city and have always be very friendly. Wonderful Mercado de Abastos fundamental the bus station as well as the Mercado for tourists implicit the Zocalo. Market days in surrounding towns are fun, especially Tlacolula (Sunday, can fence in bus at bus station). Mitla and Monte Alban are great archaeological sites.
Next on my list is Guanajuato. Lovely university town beside nearby silver mine, lovely jardines and dutiful food. We did a day trip to San Miguel -- too heaps Americans for our tastes, but it is a pretty place, but not as lively or picturesque as Guanajuato.
Then I resembling Patzcuaro. It is a smallish-feeling village but it is interesting and it have a very colonial grain. We didin't find terribly much to do after a couple of days, but it is a lovely place to relax and delight in Mexico, largely free of hordes of tourists. If you go, you might budge to Janitzio, place of Day of teh Dead celebrations, but we found the island a little dull bad the Day of teh Dead -- lots of steps to climb to get to the monument and shop after shop near very similar and not amazingly interesting wares. Odd given the potential of the place.
San Cristobal de las Casas is a bit remote, but it is an interesting, largely indigenous village specifically well worth the trip.
I am not a sand person -- too abundant gringos and hot in summer.
Zacatecas would be a great place to call round during the summer. In the mountains, nice and cool, not many tourists. Old colonial city beside lots of culture. Maybe the coolest hotel I have ever stayed surrounded by!

Chihuahua, Puebla, or Acapulco Acapulco
I would say Cabo San Lucas, umm after you travel away for it to some of the other towns around it. Beaches are pretty clean and it still have that small town feel to it. Great rates on hotels and some of the best fishing I surmise. at the moment i am living in Texcoco wich is outside of Mexico City. Mexico City is a cool place to be and the heat is not that high contained by the summer. and there is other something to do in Mex City.
CancĂșn is the best coast of the world. Playa Del Carmen. It is in the Yucatan close to Cancun but smaller number crowded with tourists. Most population head straight to Cancun so Playa might be a nicer time off spot.
