I am travelling to Mexico from canada, should i exchange my money here or in attendance? wheres a better exchange rate
Answers: ALWAYS exchange you money in the country you are going TO because you find the best exchange rates. Also, exchange at a BANK and exchange as much as you think you will call for... and if you do all 3 of these things, you will receive the best rate.
When possible, use your credit card. They obtain the best rate. Exchange your money within Mexico, but do not go to a money exchange store be in motion to a Banamex or Bancomer bank, you will bring back a better rate and no service charge.
You can use your credit cards and ATM's to withdraw money but brand sure you are aware of the currency conversion fees, they can be outrageous.
The only entry i would add to the 2 previous answers is at hand are atm's all over, so you dont necessitate to take a ton of travellers checks next to you.
if you want to bargain, and not frequent tourist area's really bargain, you inevitability cash.
if you are simply in tourist zone's plastic works everywhere.
if you are driving, the one affliction in the butt is the gas stations (Pemex) lone take bread, mainly lone pesos, but sometimes USD.
it is amazing how little cash you inevitability tho.
have fun,
Neil.
The Canadian dollar =11 Mexican peso. This can guide you when you want to exchange your money. The airport is a honourable place. American dollars are accepted every where on earth so that is another substitute for you. (Canadian $ is about equal now) My husband and I are from Canada and we're traveling to Mexico surrounded by January. We plan on doing the money exchange here in Canada and plan on taking US$. We don't want to be burdened near finding a bank and exchaning money while out nearby. We'll also bring along plastic, just surrounded by case of emergency, but don't plan on using it. I've read horror stories on TripAdvisor of travelers who enjoy stayed at resorts in Mexico and hold used their credit cards, only to hold someone at the resort get ahold of their credit card number and budge on shopping sprees.
It will be very difficult to go and get Mexican pesos in Canada. The best piece is to change your money here contained by Mexico at any reputed bank or Money exchange (there's a great deal of them at the airport).
Credit card companies will rip you off.
