Are police surrounded by Mexico really that corrupt?
I am going to Playa del Carmen in a couple months. I own heard adjectives kinds of horror stories going on for the cops down there. I hold a friend who claims he was walking down the street surrounded by Cancun, and he was simply "taken" by the cops to a Mexican put inside. They didn't charge him with anything, simply made him pay them $200 to find out. Anyone else have a horror story?
Answers: Yes, they are. The majority are thieve in disguise. They tried to whip my car contained by Tijuana for doing absolutely nil and my girlfriend had allowed prescription drugs which the cops tried to charge us as transporting illegal drugs and that it be a felony. I would be in prison "long time" they needed 200 bucks from me as well. I hold no idea what happen but they let me step with no bribe.
But in attendance is one good event I have with Tijuana police. I go to a strip club where a bartended stole my 50 dollars. I flagged a cop on the street and they go after them. He got me 200 bucks and a ride to the border! So I guess you can't pass judgment all of them. Just don't lift your car over in attendance and don't be flashy.

No offence, but Amoricans behave really really inadequately down here. I don't know why, but they seem to move their morals at the border. So, your friend who was "taken" more than possible was stumbling around near open liquor or something. AND, he later made a scene on the street while being question, so they had to thieve him in.
Nonetheless, Yes, near is a bribe system...if they see you doing something that warrants a minor infraction.me, I go through a yellow/red light only just...I was pulled over and I have to hand over 500 pesos $50US so I could progress on my way. Typical. If you look similar to a gringo, then some of the police will thieve advantage.
All I hold to say is behave yourself, you aren't contained by American anymore Toto!
