Generally u can drive your motor into Mexico, but no more than 100 miles without a mexican govt area monopoly. Also you would need your passport and acquire a stamp in it. MOST vehicle insurance is good for short trips such as these. If u are going further, after the car must be within your name, and you must show the title, or say-so from the lienholder to take it.and most wont furnish it as the insurance doesnt cover it then. You can buy short residence policies at the border and check with your insurance company also. You might also want to contact the closest Mexican consulate for further details.
