Driving to Nuevo Laredo and/or Acura?
I will have a US vehicle rental -- can I walk across the border into these 2 towns? If I drive the coupé into Mexico, what is the deal near buying the Mexican Car Insurance? Can you buy it at the last minute?
Answers: I drove to Mexico from New Orleans 3 years ago next to a car my boyfriend bought here.
Dont bother will vehicle insurance .. no seriously .. dont.. you dont need it .. and not a soul in Mexico have any .. so its useless. .. I was surprised next to that when I went. I be in mexico for 3 months and we didn't own insurance the whole time.
The with the sole purpose thing you will enjoy to pay for .. is for your motor to enter mexico. The car we have was used .. I ponder it was 5 years aged .. and we had to reward them $800. The newer your car .. the more it will cost you. If you make tracks mexico with like car .. they will administer you back that money .. so dont loose the bill. If you come back beside the same motor .. and no receipt .. you settle a HUGE FINE. If come back to the US next to no car .. afterwards you lost your money.. and you will never be allowed to bring another car (in your name) into mexico.
I dont know around Acura .. but whatever you do .. DONT GO THROUGH LAREDO.. 1st rotten .. Laredo is 1 of the most dangerous areas to progress to. 2nd off.. I have soooooooo much trouble getting into Mexico. I had adjectives my paper work .. but they wouldn't agree to me through ... I had no concept why.. .. and they didn't believe I was an american. I have to spend the night at a trashy hotel on the border (in Laredo) b/c the (a)sshole wouldn't permit me in. The subsequent morning I went stern and spoke to a women who was the supervisor to that same nouns.. she finally let me surrounded by. Both times.. going into mexico.. then coming out .. in that was nought but fighting .. the Americans didn't want the mexicans to come surrounded by .. and the Mexicans didn't want the Americans to come in .. it be awfule.
Even worse .. When I tried to get subsidise in to the US .. MY OWN COUNTRY .. They wouldn't tolerate me ! the Texas officers said I looked Hispanic .. and that i be probably a mexican lieing trying to get into the US .. they be even trying to convince me to speak spanish .. which .. mine is very poor. I look zilch like mexican .. i'm 100% caucasian .. I look Brazilian .. (i'm partially brazilian) .. They thought my paper work be fake.. the officer on both sides mexican and american were pretty crooked.. and I guess they hold their pick on who they pick on...
so trying to come back to the US.. I get on a bus to cross the river .. and everyone was suppose to attain off the bus to show the paperwork to the guy standing outside.. after get wager on on the bus .. the texas officer looked at me .. and told me to come with him .. I asked him something like my luggage . .. he told me not to worry in the region of it.. I went within the station where I be seated .. and waited and wait and waited.. when another officer asked if I be getting back on that bus soon .. i told him i didn't know since I have no idea what be going on. He said that the bus couldn't wait any longer for me .. and said he would pinch care of my luggage .. the other officer finally come out and asked why i was trying to sneak into the US .. I be like .. You Idiot.. I Have Perfect English .. and i'm from New Orleans .. I even spoke cajun to him .. though he didn't buy it. I next told him to ask me ANYTHING about the US .. he didn't wont to turn for that either .. heh. After another hour .. he finally permit me through. I went outside to the other officer to see where on earth my luggage was .. he pointed .. and near was my luggage .. THROWN within the middle of the street ... he said the next bus for Houston wouldn't arrive surrounded by this area for another 6 hours .. so he suggested I put your foot .. with adjectives my luggage ( a book bag and 2 generous suit cases) down the highway to the next traffic wispy ( a quarter of a mile ) and wait for a bus within that would take me to the closes bus station.
He turned around and go back inside.. I go and picked up all my luggage within the middle of the street .. and sat on the side and cried for 30 min. When I be approached by a 3rd officer .. who finally helped me. He said he didn't work surrounded by that exact area .. so in that was nought he could do about the other officer. He ended up stopping a bus and letting me on and describing the bus driver (in spanish) to take me to the bus station. Though that wasn't where on earth he was going. Hes the one who told me give or take a few the crime on both sides of Laredo .. he said he's had to use his gun fairly a few times and would'nt suggest anyone pass through laredo. I've also hear of other bad experiences through lardedo from others.
anywayz.. i know you probably didn't want to hear adjectives that .. lol .. hopefully you'll have more luck consequently I did.
I stayed in San Luis Potosi .. a state within the middle of mexico .. and I only traveled to 2 other states .. adjectives in adjectives.. I didn't care for mexico .. I most potential will never go pay for .. not b/c of my incident .. but b/c there be nothing special roughly the country .. tho the food WAS GREAT.. BEST FOOD I've Ever Had.
but i guess that is adjectives just my inference.
If you decided to drive into Mexico, I would recommend buying the saloon rental car insurance (if you are going to rent the vehicle here in the States). Also, contained by the last association I provided, it has a relationship in nearby if you desire to buy temporary insurance through their agency.
According to the ending link posted surrounded by my references, it states that by June of 2009 you will inevitability a passport to walk or drive into Mexico and re-enter the U.S. Contact Senator Leahy to return with more detailed information in regard to the extension of the deadline for passports. Also, in any hunt engine, type in the Leahy-Stevens Amendment and it will make available you the above info in more detail.
The following information come directly from a government website. I would beckon your local representative to find out the correct answer.
Right now you can pace or drive into these two towns with only your drivers license to get wager on into the county. DHS and DOS expect the date of full WHTI carrying out to be in the summer of 2008. The precise effecting date will be formally announced with at smallest 60 days notice.
Dude honestly. I would basically walk across the border. Thats to much to hassle beside. It is $ 0.50 to walk across the border to mexico and $ 0.30 to way of walking back to the us. No problems going from Laredo to Mexico and backbone. As a matter of certainty just did it finishing night (12/07/07). Went across, ate dinner, walk around, drank lots of beer, and took the taxi to a couple of other cities. Came pay for and crossed the border around 3 or 4 in the morning.
