Can I buy a disposable cell phones within mexico?

Answers:    Yes, you can purchase a cheap phone with prepaid time. The cost is usually in the region of 40 dollars or so. Telcel, which is the largest cell carrier within Mexico, is the most common broker. Note though, that cell time in Mexico is MUCH more expensive than within the US.

Go to any Sanbornes store located in adjectives middle and large stores. You can buy the phones in that. THere are also a number of Telcel stores within most strip malls in the country.

In various cases you may need to provide some permit to properly register the phone - however, many times they do not check or ask.

Well, disposable is relative, but they do sell pre-paids contained by most cities. I believe that there is solely one carrier within Mexico but I cannot recall the label. The phones are SIM card based though so you may know how to buy a cheap Ebay phone and just acquire a SIM card when you get nearby. nop but u can buy a cheap pre payed one or juss buy the chip so tht ur able 2 use ur own cell phone
You can buy phones for as low as $40, as be said previously, but those phones will not work in the US, they will not receive call until registered (takes about a week) and (as be said) they will be expensive to use. Try Mexitel Cellular (www.mexitel.net). They rent good phones that work everywhere surrounded by Mexico for less than it would cost to buy even the cheapest phone nearby, and are very cheap to use ($1 for 20 minutes calling the US, for example).
