Can I drive a vehicle from amarillo,tx to cancun,mexico?
Answers: Yes you can but it is a loooong drive...about 40 hrs driving time. If you are a unflustered, confident patient human being...ok. Type A, nerous, hurry-up personalities will never bring in it. It is challenging and will cost more than a plane ticket...and afterwards you have to drive stern. At some point, the unexpected WILL appear. I drove from Colorado to Veracruz ( where I presently live) and know people who hold driven from Tx to Cancun. See 2nd site for Mexican car voucher info and 3rd site for my fav. car ins..you must hold it. See 4th site for reasons you must NOT drive at nite. Have you considered going to Mazatlan or one of the other beach on the Pacific side of Mexico? Have you considered a bus...buses are luxurious and cheap and many move out form Mc Allen daily for Mexico...would be a 2 1/2 to 3 daylight trip. You may emal me if i can be of help.
From Laredo Tx. to Cancun is a 28 hour trip if you jump via Mexico City and use mayor toll highways. It's sheltered as long as you use common sense. Drive thru Mexico City on a sunday to avoid caothic bulky traffic. it would cost you just as much to fly
