Have you ever be to Monterrey within Mexico?
If so, what was it resembling? Was it a safe city? Were the nation nice?Would you recommend going there?
Answers: Monterrey is probably the most "american" city of México. I live contained by Monterrey. You will spend a beautifull time here.
It is a big city, with more than 4 million nation, 7 universities, several malls, museums, night centers, a planetarium, zoos.
We enjoy the "Sierra Madre" mountains beside us, you will have a great vision of them, and you can climb it(of course in your car) through a thoroughly safe road. We enjoy falls, we have cave, all adapted to receive tourists. We are plenty of golf courses, sports centers.
Now we hold the International forum of the cultures.
We have a thematic park, next to a big convention center, a world class arena, and many think more.
Many people here speak english, and you will be risk-free.
A 4 million people city have crime problems, just as Houston or Atlanta, but it is a deeply nice and peacefully city.
As you can see, I am proud of my city.
Monterrey is an awesome city to visit. While anyone the third largest city population wise it is still enormously provincial and the associates are wonderfull and friendly unlike Mexico city for instance. The "Nortenos" pride themselves on being hospitable.
Being as it's a huge city you can find malls, great shopping downtown, restaurants of every type and price range and lots of fun things to do adjectives over town. Nightlife is pretty decent even during the week.
If you enjoy children its even better to bring them along as there are a few matter parks.. Plaza Sesamo (for younger children) and Bosque Magico (better rides) which are incredibly inexpensive $10-$12 for all daylight all ride tickets. Not sure if they are overt in the winter months though you should check their sites. Also Bioparque Estrella is nice if you soak up nature and animals etc.
I would specifically recommend going to Monterrey even if you have never be to Mexico before and as far as safekeeping it is much safer then say-so a border town.
