Anyone know of companies within Mexico who are hiring Engineers?
i am a Manufacturing Engineer in the automotive industry beside many years of experience within Quality Assurance as well. My wife is currently living and working within Mexico. I am in the process of moving to Mexico to be beside her there and am surrounded by need of employment. I am currently studying Spanish and own been using Monster.com and other opening search sites. I've also scheduled my resume' with companies that I am decipherable with that own facilities surrounded by Mexico. Any help near contacts or suggestions for companies would be greatly appreciated. Answers: It would help to know where on earth you are headed surrounded by Mexico. I'm assuming your wife will want to stay at her current job and you will want to live surrounded by that location? If so, that certainly narrow your search!
Unfortunately, you will be competing against abundant very well-qualified Mexican citizens beside excellent bilingual skills who are willing to work for Mexican wages. Most non-Mexican citizens who work contained by industry here (at least within Torreon, the city with which I am most familiar) are expats sent down for extremely specific jobs for exceedingly specific times and many own ten or twenty or even more years with the company BEFORE they are sent to Mexico.
Your best bet is to hold out to work at the same wage rate as the Mexican citizens near the company to which you are applying and to stress some very specific post skills that you have that are short at that particular company. Hopefully you hold at least 50% fluency surrounded by Spanish and also are familiar beside the culture and history of Mexico (one of the biggest challenges for lots foreign managers here is reading the cultural differences and how that impacts everything from work attendance to discussion protocal).
Another great help would be to use any relationships that your wife may enjoy established with her company to help out you get employment any at her firm or at a firm related to that which employs her. Personal recommendation can make a huge difference within getting that door to crack open a bit wider for you.
I won't kid you. this is not going to be unforced and you will need to be harassing and realistic. But, if you are committed to moving, after you need to a moment ago keep doing the work, sending the resumes, making the phone call, and. most importantly... once you are in Mexico itself, making the face-to-face contacts that may relieve you get that living.
