I am visit Progreso (Mexico) for soon. What should I do?

I'm interested in anything, especially if it sounds eccentric. Despite enjoying it, the closing thing I want to be doing is lying on a shoreline.
Thanks.

Answers:    Well, In Progreso is good for coast things (though the beaches are not as nice as Caribbean beaches), you can rent a flap runner or something like that. There's a moment or two bit of shopping, if you are on a cruise ship then within is a market set up that sell the touristy stuff when ships are in port. There's lots of cool restaurants on the malecon.

From you request for information though I don't think you would consider any of these amazingly entertaining. I would suggest you go inland a touch either to the city of Merida, it have many handsome colonial buildings (30 min away). The Maya ruins and museum at Dzibilchaltun (20 min away) or the very striking ruins at Uxmal (85 min away, personal favourite). Or perhaps a hacienda, if you want to see a working hacienda check out Sotuta de Peon, (50 min away) i.e. a great tour that finishes with a swim within a cenote. Or if you are looking to pamper yourself afterwards check out the spa/restaurant at the Hacienda Xcanatun (25 min away).

The Yucatan Today site is a great site for the area. Enjoy.
hopeless boy Huh... Progresso DOESN'T HAVE A BEACH. Progresso is just a made for AmeriKan Mexican border town. The best restaurant contained by town is Arizona or, maybe at The Canada Store.

Progresso is 5 blocks long... if you find off the chief street, there is almost nought. There are tons of dentists, Farmacias and small stores and little else.

As of 2 weeks ago, the official exchange rate be 10.64 Pesos to the Dollar. You don't need a passport to enter Mexico but you do requirement a government issued photo ID to re-enter the U.S.
There are tons cool beaches to hand by...You could visit Campeche which is one of the lowest known out-of-date cities for US people...Foodwise try CHOCOLOMBO which is approaching a soup.PANUCHOS are like jam-packed bread with crab meat.Go on and grasp lost onthe streets...take pics and spread the word... You should go and get some of that soup they make in attendance. It's awesome.
