Ancient Chitchen Itza?
I need to do research on ancient Maya. It's for my story, not homework, and it take place in the city of Chitchen Itza contained by 750 A.D. So, archaeologists, can you help me find out a few things? Like, what did they get through? What was the religion? What features of places and homes did they have? What did they wear? How be childhood like? What verbal skill did they speak? I think it's Spanish.
Answers: If you are intent on setting it surrounded by the year 750 A.D. that is probable too early for Chichen Itza. Most of the illustrious structures there date from more or less 8OO-1200 A.D.
Nobles (royal family, scholar, priests) lived inside the city, common nation outside. It is still possible to see a typical/ traditional Mayan home in the nouns. There's some pictures here:

The tongue they spoke was Mayan, since they are Mayans. This tongue is still in use surrounded by the Mayan community in Yucatán.
