I've never applied for something like this. The form say 'Why do you want to go on this trip? How will you be a aspect member of the group and contribute to the experience of others? Explain your interest surrounded by social studies, math and science and how they will grow throughout this experience. This is not a vacation. What is it in the region of Peru, specifically, that you want to learn more something like?'
