Some ethnic differences between South American Countries similar to Colombia?
Hi,
Anyone knows something nearly possible ethnic relations and differences between South American countries. I mean close to some countries have historical problems next to each other and hence the associates of each side still have a feeling sort of weird roughly speaking the other? Like what usually was arranged between Germans and Frenchs after WW2.
Who is Colombia's rival or sort of opponent?
Thanks.
Answers: Regarding ethnic differences a country close to Colombia is mostly Mestizo, which about 60% of the population and in the region of 20% White and like 5% black (or something along those lines). The neighboring countries hold similar statistics, many of them own a majority Mestizo population except for Brazil and Argentina which have sizeable White populations.
I wouldn't say that any of the countries can`t stand each other because of see or ethnic background. The idea there is some animosity among lasting countries in the region is because of political reason mentioned above which have zilch to do with see.
venezuela and equador for one
but at the present time pres.uribe ( colombia ) is the only
one warfare the problems with drugs and a terrorist orgn. ( farc ) which these 2 pres. chavez and correa support uribe is on his own by trying to struggle these problems
Colombia and Venezuela do not get along particularly well, but it's because of border and resource disputes, not ethnicity. Colombia is allied near the United States, which is hostile to Venezuela, so that causes some rigidity. right now, probably Venezuela and Ecuador.
But it's more of a parliament issue. I don't think civilians enjoy much problems.
