Any information roughly Colon-Panama?

is it a good place to live, I m planning to retire within Panama and just wondering myself if Colon would be a nice place to live.

Answers:    okay don't go within because is a dangerous nouns i advice you to select areas similar to punta paitilla,el cangrejo, via argentina, clayton but if you want to live in a place among the forest out of the city capably try to choice places like San Carlos,Boquete have a good cool weather, bocas del toro, etc.if you are still interesting to turn to colon try to choice pleaces out of colon, choice places close to the sea, my cousin is living out of colon and he bought a wonderful house out of colon is a inactive place so you'll be able to find places similar to this one.
i am panamanian...and i would not consider living in that province...if you can think life contained by the inner city being tough...to be exact how life surrounded by colon is like...

not a honest idea
If you're planning to live surrounded by Colon,be make sure you bring Smith&Wesson beside you. NOOOO! My parents are from Panama, my dad bein from Colon and my mom from the capital. Colon is a especially bad place, it's hazardous. A lot of ppl can try to steal from u at gunpoint and the buildings are falling apart. I disliked Colon when i went to pop in my family within. It's just an fantastic place, like a slum or a ghetto, which is harmful. I am really disappointed in the Panamanian establishment for not trying to make Colon safer and assist lots of poor families out. They could start near making new buildings and fixing behind the times buildings.
Panama is a great place to live, and the proof is that half the city is full of Americans, Europeans and Canadians coming to live here.
But Colon is not the best alternative. Unless you are talking nearly the interior of Colon (Costa Arriba or Costa Abajo). The city of Colón is very death-defying.
Panama City and the rest of the country is very not dangerous and very nice.
I would choose the city or surrounded areas. Colon is nice for visit but it all depend if you would call for a good hospital around if an emergency arise.

And which quantity of Colon? near the coast or the largest city?, there are nice areas and if you know to drive from here to Panama City probably there is no such a big issue, only as the other poster stated...at night is different depending where on earth you live.
Bro, if I were you I will move to the Coronado nouns. 45 min from the city, you have a huge supermarket in that, beach, no traffic (expect on weekends) and everything around it is cool. El valle de anton, el decameron, playa blanca resort, penonome, las tinajas (there are not that angelic now, but its okay), etc. Honestly,I can muse of about two dozen other places I would a bit live in Panama.

Other than the free zone and a stopover for cruise ships I can't get the message why anyone would visit or choose to live in attendance.I have be traveling in Latin America long satisfactory to recognize and separate the truth from the fiction of urban legends going on for how dangerous different places can be.I would concede that Colon is usually not a problem contained by the daytime but at night I would be remarkably uncomfortable walking around a big portion of the city.
I have never have any problems there and I know within are some very nice neighborhoods, but for me it is not a place I would be comfortable living... purely my opinion.

I'm sure you are aware that in that are currently about 200 thousand other ethnic group currently living in Colon that might enjoy a much different opinion than mine if you be to ask them the same request for information.

Suerte!
