4 year costa rica itinerary... possible?
i want to know about places to see, things to do, best beach, local events, cheap food, and other stuff...
Answers: Yep, I think I enjoy to agree with the 2nd poster - travel to see Arenal on day 1-2 and afterwards a beach for light of day 3-4.
Heres what I recommend:
Day 1 - Arrive San Jose, leave to Arenal. Spend evening relaxing within hot springs in Tabacon resort, and spend the darkness at one of the many merit hotels in La Fortuna.
Day 2 - See the volcano contained by the morning, and then commander off to the coast. Arrive within Jaco in the afternoon, check out the shore and eat amazing fish tacos at the place divergent POPS (has fishbones as a logo). Enjoy the crazy nightlife.
Day 3 - Spend some time at the beach and next move on to Manuel Antonio. Hang out at the sand and visit the national park to see monkeys, sloths, iguanas. Eat a 'casado' for lunch (cheap and delicious) and hose it down with a intuitive watermelon juice or a banana and pineapple smoothie at Balu's restaurant on the primary beach. Sunset drinks at Barba Roja for an amazing display.
Day 4 - Stay in the Manuel Antonio nouns, either run see the 'Tres Pilas' waterfalls or if outlook adventurous go on a rafting trip beside Iguana Tours. Fly back to San Jose on the ultimate plane which costs $50, and takes 20 minutes. Eat 'ceviche' for lunch if you are a hanger-on of fish.

la fortuna and a beach! Hi Uru,
The best answer really depends on what you approaching and your budget. Tabacón in Fortuna implicit active Arenal Volcano is overrated and greatly expensive in my feelings. There are other cheaper hot springs in the Fortuna nouns such as the Ecotermales, a reservation-only place that will never get crowded close to the other options (yet it costs smaller amount!).
Also, depending on when you travel to CR once you get to Fortuna involved Arenal Volcano may be completely clouded over and you will not see much more than whiteness.
If you are looking for an active and outlook oriented break and are not interested in crowds I suggest that you try MalPais shoreline in southern Nicoya Peninsula. You can fly here from San José (about a 45 min. flight costing less than $90 respectively way) and you will find drier weather all-year round, a groovy surfing scene, amenities, many lodging option and the best sunsets.
From MalPais you can visit a personality reserve, surf, do a canopy tour, move about sea-kayaking, hike, etc, etc.
Of course, if you are interested surrounded by nightlife, casinos and cheesiness then gather your time and spend one night surrounded by San José and then two night in Jacó (Central Pacific Coast).
Good luck,
Carlos
