Answers: First I would notably recommend deciding whether you would to some extent see Central or South America. Two weeks is going to fly and although all the previous answers planned someplace in S.Am., its much bigger and within are SO many more choices.
For a two week trip, I enunciate do C.Am. I lived there for 6months and HIGHLY recommend Guatemala! There is still a sizeable population of indigenous people that wear their aboriginal dress which is beautiful and the country is amazing. It is not over touristed close to CostaRica (although Antigua can feel close to little Europe) and as a female traveling solo, I never feel unsafe (as long as you travel smart).
In Guatemala, I say call round Quetzaltenango (Xela) in the highlands for Volcano hiking, Tikal is as you would expect unbelievable, Coban and Semuc Champey is one of the most divine places I have ever be (crystal clear waterfall and pools and few tourists) and the market at Chichicastenango and San Francisco el Alto...
Utila, Roatan and Cerro las Minas Mountain in Honduras is are nice, Skip El Salvador, Leon and Granada and Omotepe island surrounded by Nicaragua are definitely worth visit...
Two weeks is short, but if you want to see more, C.Am. is smaller and you will get places faster. Happy Travels!
Anywhere surrounded by Colombia! I love it there! The Amazon Rainforest is something that everyone should experience... as capably as Machu Pichu (dont know the spelling).. 1) sao paulo in brazil, its the style capital here & u have tons of beach there. the equivalent to sao paulo is rio dijanero but im not sure roughly speaking the shopping over there. u can even enjoy a safari tour of the amazon & rain forests. dont shift 2 brazilia, the capital cuz its boring. & if u choose this destination which i recommed, u hold 2 try this soft drink cald guarana, its amazing! oh yea almost 4got, if ur going on a romntic getaway u shud check out bahia as well cuz the beach there r thrilling the water leaves the shores after midnite next comes rushing back around 10am. its really something 2 experience it.
2)cancun (tijuana) 1 of the best beach between n/s america
I would love to go Peru,and Brazil Rio,Yeh man!... to pop in 1 of the Wonders of the World : MACHUPICCHU :)
