I'm travelling to Costa Rica and surrounding countries contained by June...?
What should I be sure and do?
I'm also a photographer, and will be taking my Canon 35mm and a Fujifilm S5100...I heard things roughly speaking how you should cover up any brand names, etc, near black tape. Why is this? Will bringing my cameras be a HUGE risk of getting them taken from me by official (not just theives, pickpocketers, but actual tenet enforcement)
Answers: Never heard of that, be to Costa Rica twice, and had no problems beside either cameras, or show... (I now use digital). Some countries want you to register the equipment that you bring surrounded by, because they think you might flog it. Africa way more of a problem around this than CR, but even then, I lately gladly showed them my stuff, smiled stupidly, and they agree to me in and out.
Places to see. for sure don't miss the Monte Verde Rain forest, and hope you bring to photograph the Respendant Quatzel. one lovely bird. If nothing else, hope you at smallest get to see it.
Have a great time... the inhabitants are lovely... but as anywhere, always scrutinize your stuff.
i don't know, i have never hear of it, i went a year ago and i didn't have any problems with anything by the approach check prices in here and if you haven't buy your tickets buy them next to 3 months of anticipacion to get the best matter http://www.ytbtravel.com/ticotravel I traveled in Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, and never have any trouble with official involving my camera. Its remotely possible they'd be touchy if you took pics of military installations or something, but even then...
I don't know just about the other countries you are traveling to, but in Costa Rica you can pilfer both your cameras with no problem. Just look out when you go to public places and other keep an eye on your cameras.
You don't hold to cover the brand or anything.
