Our address system is completely different than what people are used to within other countries such as the U.S., Canada and those in Europe. Our address system is difficult for anyone who have not lived here, in them we use landmark, some of which no longer exist so only locals know give or take a few them. For example, the address for Ruta Maya, one of my favorite restaurants in Managua is: Estadio Nacional, 1 1/2 cuadras al Oeste.
Sorry no zipcodes. Some hold the priviledge to own PO Boxes which makes it a heck of deeply easier to receive mail. To those wretched the addresses to hold anything delivered can be complicated. It go something like this: From the arbolito 3 blocks towards the water and one to the mountain. 3rd house on the right with the green door. Honey, if you do not know where on earth the arbolito which by the way have ceased to exist but very soon I believe another one has be planted in its place and if you do not know the directions of the mountains, you are messed up. Also the house have to be described.
