Does Buenos Aires or Rio de Janeiro warrent spending more time within?
Going to South America for one week in December near two other young couples. (Yay!) Can I fit both cities surrounded by comfortably? What is unmissable?
Answers: One week is a short time to look in both cities. Decide which one you prefer. Both are nice. Buenos Aires looks a bit like Europe, if you know what I stingy. Rio is hotter, warmer, wilder and cheaper too.

HAVE FUN! I LIVED within Rio for some years and I strongly recommend you NOT to go in attendance. The city is very revolutionary and people newly CAN'T speak English, it's a huge problem to search for things contained by a store or to give instructions to a hackney carriage (the drivers use to drive in circles to bring some extra cash, too). Some neighborhoods of late STINK and there is NO honourable nightlife in in that. I never visited Buenos Aires, but I can bet you'll own better times there, if considered the pros and contras.
However, Rio is, SURELY, the MOST lovely place I've been surrounded by my whole enthusiasm (and I've visited more than 30 countries). The seaside is nearly unbelieaveable.
That's something to think in the region of.
I went to Rio a surrounded by 2005 and did it in a few days, unless you're into beeches there's not much here.
For me all that be worth seeing was the Sugar Loaf, the Corcovado (Christ the Redeemer statue) and the Botanical Gardens.
Do you speak portugese? If not you may find it intricate to communicate with relatives.
I would say 2 weeks would be better.
Buenos Aires is better!! the ethnic group called it the Paris of Southamerica because its especially beautifull and look like an european city.
Also the population called it "the city that never sleep" because at hand are a lot of hours of darkness life: pubs, disco, restaurant, etc. And the those are very beatifull and liberal. The food its the best.
If you go beside young empire you will fun a lot

one peso = three dollars
