Costa Rica for a week...?
So, my boyfriend and I just booked tickets for a week within Costa Rica toward the end of May. Flying within and out of San Jose, but definitely want to see more of the country than basically the capital. Any suggestions on must-see things/must-do events, where to stay surrounded by San Jose, which beach towns are the closest/best -- and should we acquire a hotel for a few nights practical one of those? How difficult is it to rent a car, or is near public transportation out of San Jose? Any information would be awesome!
Thanks.
Answers: if you want to go to a seaside, go to tamarindo, within Guanacaste, stay at the hotel Coco Rico, small affordable, very nice, everybody speaks english within that town, and there is seriously to do there, you can acquire a room in that hotel for going on for $ 70.00 a night.
also be in motion to see a volcano, go pop in volcan poas or volcan arenal, i do recommend those in arenal you can also shift to the thermal waters, very nice.
i am from Costa rica, ask me more things if you close to to know more, saprigol(a)yahoo.com
i hope you have fun.
To answer your questions/comments: It adjectives depends on how much money you have and/or are likely to spend. Yes you can rent a car assured enough (expensive)! I recommend not spending too much time within San Jose at all. Buses do stop nearly half a block from the aeropuerto internacional Juan Santa Maria (SJO). Take the "red" bus to San Jose. It save you a ton of money compared to taking a taxi. Once you are contained by San Jose, then seize a taxi to nick you to "la terminal de autobuses que van para ______________." (Fill in the blank of the city or town you may want to walk to.) I like (and recommend) going to the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica and staying surrounded by places like "Cuna del Angel" or "Villa(s?) Rio Mar" within or near Dominical. Once situated, in attendance or wherever you step, then you can other find out what activities within are/places to go, etc. If you progress to Dominical, try to see the "cataratas Nauyaca." It costs ABOUT $40 but it's worth it with breakfast and lunch included next to the horse ride to the falls. You'll need to sort reservations. I believe that activity starts out roughly speaking 7 or 8 in the morning.
Wherever you dance, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Costa Rica is a exquisite place. ENJOY! I just get back on Friday from CR, and hold been a few times. This time, I go without a plan/reservations/or any care for a very short trip. BIggest problem I found be that is be high tourist season, and at hand were virtuallly no hotels contained by San Jose, in 3 night I moved three times.
Renting a car be easy, they only just needed a DL, Credit card and passport. Brother and I drove to Arenal for a trip. One of the most beautiful drives I've ever have in my vivacity, and I travel extensively. Drivers there are pretty aggressive and traffic law are more of a suggestion, than rules that are followed. The city driving is down right scary, but out surrounded by the country is nice, however at night the road from Arenal hindmost to SJO become a major trucking route and can be Dangerous. FInd a room within La Fortuna, enjoy and the hot springs and view Arenal erupt at night, its really cool. That is what I'll do subsequent time, instead of driving back to SJO at dark.
As far as staying in SJO, the Sleep Inn downtown is a nice, verbs american style hotel with rates at 80 a dark. You in walking distance to Bars, restaurants and casinos, and the locked part of the picturesque downtown .
You'll hold no problems finding taxis, and oodles of the guys can be rented for extended day trips.
Check out the Osa Penesula and the rainfall forrest, must do items!
I am so jealous you bring to go to Costa Rica! I newly got hindmost 4 nights ago and go for a week and it was amazing!! my favorite break I have ever be on by far! We also flew in and out of San Jose, but didnt stay near long at all. When surrounded by San Jose we stayed at the Hotel Europa. It was fine. But the best places I go to were surrounded by Tortuguero, Arenal and Monteverde. In Tortuguero we stayed at a wonderful very un-developed place call Vista al Mar Lodge. I loved it. It was on a strip of landscape between a canal and the the deep! Wonderful beach for swimming and also have poool!! yay! Anjd on the canal I saw animals such as tucans, macaws, crocodiles, monkeys and more. In Arenal I dont remember the baptize of the hotel off the top of my team leader, but it was a cool nouns. There are wonderful hot springs there! We go to the Bahldi hot springs in Arenal and you should definately check them out! There is a huge and activ volcanoe contained by Arenal that is drastically interesting. In monteverde we stayed at Villa Verde and it was a intensely cute hotel, no pool, but it was markedly nice. In monteverde, you should definately go to 100% aventura! We go there and did the sunshade tour and the horse back ride! it be my favorite part of the unharmed trip. absolutely amazing!! I hope you own a really fun trip! I hope my information helped!! here are my sugestion
for staying practical the airport
Trapp Family Country inn
www.trappfamilycountryinn.com
hotel villa dolce
www.hotelvilladolce.com
if you would like to see the cloud fores after go to monteverde live volcano and hotsprings
you should go to la fortuna
check http://www.lafortunainfo.com/
for tours and hotels contained by la fortuna, the bus ride from san jose is only 3 hours
Go to any Osa peninsula or Arenal area. You will hold fun!! the country is small you can see pretty much every thing surrounded by 2 weeks. There is horse back ridding on the shore. YOU have to step snokling, so pretty. Also waterfall are a big point to. I when with a big group so I did not look at rent allot, but I do know that buses are unbelievably cheap (we rented a big Max buss.) You also have to try POPs rime cream (coffee ice cream the best.) Also I be two people nude at the sand so watch out for that
I've be to Costa Rica twice . . . most recently for my wedding/honeymoon. A week isn't alot of time . . . and you don't want to spend much of that time driving. I one-sidedly wouldn't stay in San Jose at adjectives. It isn't very pretty and here really isn't much to see there except the historic theater and the gold ingots museum. You can do those in partially a day. I would basically make your instrument to the pacific coast and stay in a small resort or cabana practical the ocean. Jaco would be the best place for low knob inexpensive lodging. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive near from San Jose, and a VERY BEAUTIFUL DRIVE ! You could also go to Guanacaste. I would recommend Brazilto. It's stale the beaten bridleway but very romantic. There's a litte hotel at hand called Hotel Brazilto. It looks resembling something out of a Hemmingway novel. No pool or anything . . . but VERY romantic and right on the the deep where you'll probable be the only tourists. Manuel Antonio is awesome too . . . but that's nearly 1 1/2 hours past Jaco. Manuel Antonio is probably the most lovely place in Costa Rica surrounded by my opinion. Think of Maui 50 years ago. Totally untouched.
