What is the best time of year to stop by Costa Rica?
My sister and I would like to drop by Costa Rica sometime in 2008. Does anybody know what the best month is to call on in language of avoiding a lot of precipitation? I know it's tropical and varied, but I hear some parts of the year are best avoided. What are those times to avoid? Thanks!
Answers: For most of Costa Rica, I would go next to the early dry season starting within mid- December or so, its still very green but it won't rainfall on you and it'll be sunny. Late dry season (up to March/April) ain't bad any but in NW Costa Rica (Guanacaste, Nicoya) heaps trees have lost their leaves and its not as lush. May to Sept. is drizzly season but not too bad, it'll precipitation once a day for conceivably 2-3 hours but will be nice the rest of the day. In NW CR this is comparatively nice, the rain is short and newly enough to cut the bake. The late drizzling season is very massively wet and I would avoid it.
The Caribbean coast have a different climate, my impression is that its pretty changeable there year-round.
I go to the Caribbean coast in March of 2005. All of the weather reports told us it be raining, raining, raining. When we were finally competent to speak to the person at our hotel, he told us they'd be in a drought for months. The intact time we were in that (7 days) it rained once at darkness. It is hard to draw from good weather info on queue, your best bet is to communicate with those who are in fact there. we go in sept have very little rainfall it warm but other had a
breeze
May to September is a nice time to pop in Costa Rica. It is the rainy season, but it doesn't rainfall the whole daytime, just a few hours usually during the afternoon.
